Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future. It takes a holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

Graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1990, McMaster University in 1994 (physiotherapy) and 2005 (Master’s in Exercise Physiology). Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy 2001

Doug has a 20+ year history working with Hockey Canada. He won Gold with the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team at the 2010, 2006 and 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and the 2001 IIHF World Women’s Championship. Was a member of Canada’s National Men’s Junior Team that captured gold at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Grand Forks, ND in 2005, Ottawa 2009 and Silver in Buffalo 2011. Won Gold at the U18 World Championships in Dallas, Texas. Recently covered the Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland in 2022 and 2023. In total has covered 14 World Championships (6 Gold, 4 Silver, 3 4th place), 4 Olympics (3 Gold, 1 Bronze), and 2 Spengler Cups. Also worked with the Ontario Hockey League London Knights from 2003 to 2020 (Full time 2012 – 2020) winning 4 OHL championships – 2005, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2 Memorial Cups – 2005, 2016.

Presently works as the owner/physiotherapist of EPIC sports physiotherapy in London, Ontario.
